This is a summary of Adobe's public release notes as of October 25, 2026. Follow the linked sources for full details.
On October 13, 2026 Adobe published Adobe Commerce 2.4.10-alpha1, the first pre-release of the next Magento 2 line. It is an alpha, not a production release: according to Adobe's released versions page, 2.4.9 (May 12, 2026) is still the current line, and no end-of-support date has been set for 2.4.10 yet. Here is what is in it and what a merchant should do with it now.
New features
- Fastlane by PayPal. Faster guest checkout where shoppers can opt in to save payment and shipping details and come back with a one-time code.
- Braintree Insights. Payment reporting in Magento Admin: transactions, settlements, declines and gateway rejections, with up to 13 months of history imported.
- Swish. A Swedish local payment method in the Braintree extension, shown only when the Swedish merchant, country and currency settings are met.
- Regions managed in Admin. Merchants can add, edit and deactivate states and provinces for any country without code changes. Regions used by existing orders can be deactivated but not deleted.
- Optional Symfony cache. A Symfony L2 cache can be switched on explicitly. The existing Zend-based cache stays the default, so stores that do nothing see no change.
Platform and stack changes
The release notes list a long set of dependency upgrades. The ones most likely to matter for your hosting and custom code:
- Compatibility with Varnish 9.0.
- predis/predis moves from 2.x to 3.x, with better Redis and Valkey compatibility.
- Fixes for PHP 8.5 deprecations across checkout, admin and static content deploy.
- Frontend libraries such as Knockout.js, jQuery UI, Less.js and many npm build dependencies are updated to patched versions.
Fixes worth knowing about
Adobe says 169 core issues were fixed. A few that affect catalog data and anything reading it, such as feeds, search or a storefront assistant:
- Product search reindexing (catalogsearch_fulltext) could stop partway through. That is fixed.
- The GraphQL products query could return a null quantity for in-stock products on a custom MSI stock. It now returns the real saleable quantity.
- Updating an attribute option through the REST API could wipe its visual swatch, and attribute updates failed without attribute_id. Both are fixed.
- The bulk tier price API no longer fails the whole batch when one SKU is missing.
- Checkout requests slowed down for configurable products with many children. Response times now stay steady.
- Google Analytics 4 ecommerce events now use the GA4 format and cover the full checkout funnel.
What to do now
- Do not run an alpha on a live store. Use 2.4.10-alpha1 on staging to test your theme, extensions and integrations early.
- Patch production today. The same day, Adobe published security bulletin APSB26-153 for Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source, with fixes for critical, high and medium vulnerabilities.
- Read the isolated patch notes. Adobe notes the hotfix for CVE-2026-75650 from the September bulletin is not part of the October isolated patch and must be applied separately.
- Check your hosting plan for Varnish 9, Valkey and PHP 8.5, since those are where 2.4.10 is heading.
